          College

After attending college for only 3 days, Bernard decided it wasn’t for him. His passion for restoring and repairing old furniture was just too great.

Realizing their son’s dreams, his parents gave him the tuition money to buy a piano restoration shop – the first of many lessons that have taught him how to successfully own and operate a furniture repair shop for 32 years.

          The present

To this day Bernard continues to focus on their niche of restoring sentimental furniture, upholstery, art, books, brass and silver. Responding in times of tragedy from water, fire or wind, the craftsmen at Mumford Restoration restore your sentimental pieces to their original grandeur.

As Bernard puts it – it’s a wonderful life! He gets to do what he loves – run a successful local furniture repair store and to service the good people of Raleigh, Durham, Cary and Chapel Hill.
